Tola requires Two Factor Authentication to log in. This means you need to input a code sent to your mobile device before you can log into the Tola application.
Codes can be sent one of two ways:
By default codes are sent via text messages to your phone number when setting up the account.
You can also set up a Mobile Authenticator to receive codes. Using a Mobile Authenticator has several advantages:
It is more secure than text messages
It will work even if you do not have access to a cellular network
It will reliably work even if you are traveling
It will continue working if you change your phone number
To setup a Mobile Authenticator, you first need to install one. Tola uses the TOTP standard which is supported by the vast majority of Mobile Authenticator apps.
Install a Mobile Authenticator app on your phone (we recommend Google Authenticator)
Go to Tola → Settings → Your Name → Enable Mobile Authenticator
Follow the instructions displayed there to set it up
That's it!
The next time you log into the Tola app, you will not receive a text message and will instead be required to enter a code provided by your Mobile Authenticator app.
